THERE ARE MANY CHANGES IN ALL DEPARTMENTS. PLEASE READ ALL RULES CAREFULLY.
 
ANIMAL HEALTH RULES ARE SET FORTH BY THE PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND MUST BE ADHERED TO.             
 
PENNSYLVANIA CATTLE REQUIREMENTS:
PENNSYLVANIA CATTLE REQUIREMENTS:
1.
A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued within 30 days prior to the opening date of Fair.
2.
No Dairy Cattle showing clinical signs of infectious or contagious disease, including acative ringworm, warts, lice, and mange will be admitted to any show.
3.
Official Health Certificate (AAI-13 or equivalent) must accompany all cattle for show or sale.  An Animal Owner or Caretaker’s Verification of Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) form must accompany each animal, and must be presented upon arrival at the exhibition grounds.
4.
Individual official animal identification is required. Official ID’s include:
 
a.
A USDA-issued metal ear tag.
 
b.
An ISO-compliant 15-digit ear tag (including RFID).
 
c.
A breed registration tattoo if the tattoo is legible and the animal is accompanied by a copy of the registration certificate; or
 
d.
A breed registration ear tag if the animal is accompanied by a copy of the registration certificate.
5.
A current rabies vaccination administered by a licensed veterinarian is required for animals 3 months of age and older (market cattle are exempt from this vaccination requirement). All vaccine label directions must be followed, and all rabies vaccinated cattle must be accompanied by a rabies vaccination certificate or the vaccination information must be included on the CVI. If a rabies vaccination certificate is provided, the certificate must contain legible name and contact information of the veterinarian who administered the vaccine and the veterinarian’s signature. A copy of the rabies vaccination certificate is acceptable
 
OUT OF STATE CATTLE REQUIREMENTS:
1.
A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued within the 60 days prior to the opening date of the exhibition is required. The CVI shall include a statement verifying that “all animals identified on this Certificate of Veterinary Inspection have been examined and found to be free from Vesicular Stomatitis (VS). During the past 90 days, these animals have neither been exposed to VS nor located within 10 miles of a site where VS has been diagnosed.
2.
All animals must be free of infectious and contagious diseases and a statement of this is required on the CVI (the statement is pre-printed on the CVI). Animals appearing unhealthy upon arrival may not enter the exhibition grounds.
3.
An Animal Owner or Caretaker’s Verification of Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) form must accompany each animal, and mustbe presented upon arrival at the exhibition grounds.
4.

a.

6.
Brucellosis:
 
a.
No test is required for exhibition animals which originate from a Brucellosis-free state or are members of a Certified Brucellosis-free Herd.
 
b.
Test eligible animals (unvaccinated animals over 8 months (269 days of age) and those calfhood vaccinated over 14 months (449 days of age) originating from Brucellosis Class A, B, and C states shall be Brucellosis test negative within 60 days of the opening date of the show. The negative test results and date of test must be included on the CVI or the animal must be accompanied by a negative laboratory test report (a copy of the original lab report is acceptable).
 
c.
An approved laboratory in the state of origin or Canada shall conduct an official blood test from brucellosis, and the imported test-legible animals shall be negative to one of the following approved tests.
 
 
1.
Buffered Acid Plate Antigen Test (BAPA).
 
 
2.
Standard Tube Agglutination Test. The imported animals shall be negative in the 1:50 dilution.
 
 
3.
Official. Test Card.
7.
Testing Tuberculosis:
 
a.
No test is required for animals originating from “Accredited Free” states or zones.
 
b.
All animals originating from states or zones designated “Modified Accredited Advanced” must be test negative within the 60 days prior to the date of importation. The negative test results and date of test must be included on the CVI or the animal must be accompanied by a negative laboratory test report (a copy of the original lab report is acceptable).
All animals originating from states or zones designated "Modified Accredited" must originate from herds in which all animals 12 months of age and older are test negative within the 12 months prior to the date of importation; and the animals to be imported are test negative within the 60 days prior to the date of iimportation and at least 60 days after the negative whole herd gtest.  The negative test results and date of test must be included on the CVI or the animal must be accompanied b y a negative laboratory test report (a copy of the original lab report is acceptable).
 
CAMBRIA COUNTY FAIR RULES:
1.
The exhibitor must have all animals listed for competition on the grounds by 12:00 Noon on Sunday. All such animals shall remain on the premises until Saturday 5:00 p.m.
2.
Animals used in group classes must be entered and shown in individual classes.
3.
Milk-House facilities will be available; attendant will be on hand for each milking.
4.
BEDDING -There will be no shredded paper or tree bark.
5.
Manure must be dumped at the designated pit areas, and kept inside of the pit.
6.
Animals are not permitted to be brought in at any other time than specified. All animals must be inspected by the Veterinarian or by a designated inspector. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in your being asked to leave.
7.
All cattle must be haltered and led when unloaded, moving around the Fair Grounds and buildings, and when being loaded.
8.
No exhibitor or other person leading animals will be allowed to enter the arena unless attired in suitable uniform.
9.
Barn Awards: Inspections will be made unannounced daily. Awards cannot be paid without a name; please have a name on your stall. Exhibitors must keep their display up until 1:00 PM on Saturday, the last day of fair.
