MISS LAUREN ITLE-SZPALA
Lauren Itle-Szpala is the daughter of Jennifer Itle and Adam Szpala. She is 17 years old and currently attends Penn Cambria High School as a senior. Lauren is employed at Vale Wood Farms in Loretto by her family and the Lemon Drop Lounge in Ebensburg. Agriculture has always been very prevalent in her life.
She has been in 4-H for eight years and is the president to Pitchfork Community Club. Lauren has been showing poultry, market lambs, and alpacas. Lauren has won grand champion 4-H poultry for the last six years and best of barn for the past two years. Birds have been a passion of hers since she was young, and both 4-H and the American Legion County Fair have helped connect her with people who share similar interests.
Outside of 4-H, Lauren is actively involved with music and the raising and selling of poultry products on her farm.
In 2016 Lauren was presented with the American Legion Auxiliary medal award on behalf of Loretto American Legion for demonstrating high qualities of honor, courage, scholarship, leadership, service and Americanism.
She plans to attend Penn State University to major in Animal Sciences and minor in Poultry and Avian Sciences.
